UC Criminology students heard from James Donnelly, a U.S. Department of Justice Trial Attorney and Domestic Terrorism Coordinator. As a federal prosecutor in the Counterterrorism Section, Mr. Donnelly offered an inside look at his career path, the challenges of investigating terrorism, and the complexities of high-profile criminal cases such as U.S. v. Routh.
He shared his personal journey from high school and college athlete to law school graduate, highlighting the dedication and resilience required to build a career in federal prosecution. Students gained valuable insight into gang, narcotics, and terrorism cases and learned how prosecutors work with investigators to pursue justice at the highest levels.
