Union Catholic is excited to announce the launching of a Planned Giving Office

By Jim Lambert

Union Catholic is excited to announce that it has launched a Planned Giving Office, a new initiative that will ensure that the school continues to thrive in the future.

Dr. James Reagan Jr., Union Catholic’s Assistant Principal and a member of UC's Class of 1996, will serve as the Planned Giving Officer, and Mrs. Chiara Duane is the Planned Giving Officer Assistant.

“I am privileged, honored and excited to be a part of this new chapter in the mission and ministry of Union Catholic,’’ said Dr. Reagan. “This has been in the works for a while and we’re really happy to officially announce the launching of our Planned Giving Office to give our school constituents the ability to give back to a place they hold so dear. It became abundantly clear to us that in order to sustain Union Catholic and lead us into the future that Planned Giving and Estate Planning is vital to our future success. Planned Giving is an important building block to the vitality of our faith endeavor at Union Catholic. I’m really excited to be a part of this new phase as we ensure Union Catholic is around for the next 100 years.''

UC's Planned Giving Office offers several different gift options and opportunities for people to make investments such as a charitable gift annuity and estate planning. Donations can also be made in a will or living trust.

Union Catholic will work to find a charitable plan that lets donors provide for their family and support Union Catholic. To learn more about all the gift options that will benefit both the donor and the school, please visit Union Catholic’s Planned Giving website that can be found here or call Dr. Reagan directly at (908) 889-1600 ext. 330.

Dr. Reagan said the timing is right for this new initiative, and the program is already generating lots of interest.

“We are such a young school with our earliest graduates being from the Class of 1966, and the timing for this initiative is perfect,’’ said Dr. Reagan. “It’s an opportunity for us to reach out to our foundation to ensure that Union Catholic continues to thrive. I’ve already had conversations with numerous people in the past few months in regards to Planned Giving and I look forward to even more conversations,’’ said Dr. Reagan.

Dr. Reagan said Mrs. Duane is a valuable asset to the Planned Giving Office.

“Mrs. Duane brings talents and skills from the excellent work she did in the Development Office to the Planned Giving Office,’’ said Dr. Reagan. “She’s able to answer questions in the field, and she’s been a great support to our friends, alumni, and donors. She provides sustenance to our Planned Giving team.’’

Mrs. Duane is excited about her new role.

“Planned Giving is a ministry and service to our many constituents (alumni, past parents, current parents, grandparents, faculty/staff and friends) who love Union Catholic. It’s exciting to assist in Planned Giving and assist in Union Catholic’s future and make sure Union Catholic is here for many years to come,’’ said Mrs. Duane.
