Union Catholic held a special ceremony on Wednesday to recognize Mr. Jim Reagan Sr., Sister Ann Sullivan, SSJ, Mr. John Cerimele, and Ms. Meg Nuwer, who were recently honored by RCAN (Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark) for their dedicated years of service at Union Catholic.

Union Catholic Principal Sister Percylee Hart, RSM, presented Mr. Reagan, Sister Ann, Mr. Cerimele and Ms. Nuwer with certificates from RCAN.

Mr. Reagan, who retired last spring after a remarkable run at UC, which included 20 years as the Athletic Director, was honored for 35 years of service. Sister Ann, who works in the UC Counseling Department, was recognized for 25 years of service.

Union Catholic graduates Ms. Nuwer (Class of 1998) and Mr. Cerimele (Class of 1974) were honored for 20 years of service. Ms. Nuwer is UC’s Director of Student Support Services, and Mr. Cerimele teaches Italian and Spanish at UC, and was the head boys soccer coach at UC for several years.
Sister Percylee is very appreciative of the hard work and dedication that Mr. Reagan, Sister Ann, Mr. Cerimele, and Ms. Nuwer have displayed over their years of service.

“They are all very dedicated and faithful,’’ said Sister Percylee. “They have given their gifts and talents for the mission of a Catholic education.''
Mr. Cerimele said the best part of teaching comes from seeing his students grasp what is being taught.

“The reason I keep doing this and love doing this is because of the moment of enlightenment,’’ said Mr. Cerimele, who taught and coached at Oratory for several years before coming to UC. “There is nothing better than when you see the look on a kids face when they get something. You can’t put a price on that.’’
