Fernando DeOliveira celebrates his 20th Service Anniversary at Union Catholic

As part of Union Catholic’s celebration of service anniversaries, we are taking an inside look at each faculty/staff member who is being honored.

Service Anniversary Honoree: Fernando DeOliveira

Years of Service: 20

Position at UC: Works in the maintenance department 

Education: Graduated from Professor Dalto Santos High School in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Also attended Electrician Trade School.

Before UC: Worked as an electrician in Brazil for a company called "Light".

Journey to UC: “I ended up working at UC through Joe DeOliveira (no relation). He used to be the head coach of the UC boys soccer team. He referred me to Sister Percylee.’’

Biggest changes you’ve seen at UC? “How advanced in technology the school has become. I see that UC is always aiming higher. 

What do you love the most about working at UC? “What I love the most is the trust and care Sister Percylee has for us.’’

Favorite moment during your time at UC? “One of my favorite moments was the 50th anniversary.’’

What are you most proud of when you reflect on your years at UC?  “The support we received from UC as a family.’’

Did you know: Fernando’s son, Paulo, graduated from UC in 2003.  

Something about yourself that most people don’t know? “I used to be a DJ when I was younger and my DJ Crew was called Love Song.’’

Favorite thing to do in your spare time? “Listen to loud music and read about politics.’’
