Federal Agent Thomas Ollen Was a Guest Speaker in UC's Criminology Classes

Thomas Ollen, a Senior Financial Investigator with the Federal Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives Unit in the Newark, N.J. Unit, was a special guest speaker in Kim Donnelly's Criminology classes at Union Catholic on Monday.

Agent Ollen, the father of Union Catholic junior Grace Ollen, spoke with the students via zoom about his extensive career in law enforcement and the interrogation of witnesses. Agent Ollen explained the everyday duties of an agent and how the questioning of witnesses should be done and how it impacts a criminal investigation.

Mrs. Donnelly said her students learned a lot from Agent Ollen and she's grateful for him taking the time to speak to her classes.

“We’re thrilled to have Agent Ollen join us today as a guest speaker in our Criminology classes,'' said Mrs. Donnelly. "The students really learned a lot from hearing about Agent Ollen’s career and experiences. It means so much for students to be able to connect what they learn in class to tangible real world people and events and to realize that those people are right here in our UC community. Many thanks to Grace and Agent Ollen!”
