Union Catholic’s girls tennis team picked up its first victory of the season Wednesday, defeating Dayton, 4-1, at Kramer Manor Park in Scotch Plains to even its record at 1-1.

The Vikings won four of the five matches, including all three singles flights and second doubles.

Ella Moritz led the way at second singles, defeating Yve Lieberman, 6-2, 6-0, while Mahika Salariya cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sharlyn Dubey at third singles.

Union Catholic also swept both doubles matches. Dulce De Ocampo and Bella Lin teamed up for a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Jaclyn Wang and Julia Brendell at first doubles, while Taylor Sesely and Sofia Acevedo defeated Payten Santiago and Gwenyth Patchman, 6-3, 7-5, at second doubles.
