Union Catholic is proud to announce that Assistant Principal Noreen Andrews has been selected as a recipient of a 2026 Scouting America Union County Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the organization's highest honors recognizing exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to the community.

Andrews will be recognized at the Scouting America Union County Annual Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Shackamaxon Country Club.

The Union County Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who exemplify in their daily lives the ideals expressed in the Scout Oath and Scout Law for more than 115 years. Recipients are chosen for their outstanding community service, demonstrated leadership in worthwhile organizations, and the respect and admiration they have earned from colleagues and those they serve.

For more than 40 years, Andrews has been a cornerstone of the Union Catholic community, serving as an educator, mentor, and administrator whose unwavering dedication has had a profound impact on generations of students, faculty, and families. Throughout her remarkable career, she has exemplified the school's mission and core values of community, respect, responsibility, honesty, and compassion while helping to cultivate a faith-filled learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

A visionary educational leader, Andrews has played a pivotal role in keeping Union Catholic at the forefront of innovation. She was instrumental in the school's pioneering efforts in virtual learning, helping launch its partnership with VHS Learning and expanding educational opportunities for students long before online and blended learning became commonplace. Her leadership also helped guide the implementation of the Canvas Learning Management System and numerous digital learning initiatives that have transformed teaching and learning throughout the school.

Equally significant has been Andrews' commitment to mentoring teachers and fostering professional growth. Through her leadership, collaboration, and support, she has helped create a culture of excellence in which educators are encouraged to innovate, embrace new ideas, and continually enhance the learning experience for students.

Most recently, Andrews has led Union Catholic's efforts to thoughtfully integrate artificial intelligence into education while ensuring that ethics, responsibility, and student well-being remain central to its use. Her leadership helped position Union Catholic as a national leader in educational innovation, culminating in the school earning the prestigious 2025 RAIL Certificate of Achievement along with the Responsible AI in Learning Endorsement for excellence in AI literacy, safety, and ethics.

Throughout her four decades at Union Catholic, Andrews has consistently embraced innovation while remaining deeply committed to the school's Catholic mission and values. Her dedication to serving others, her passion for education, and her commitment to preparing students for success in an ever-changing world have earned her the admiration of colleagues, students, parents, and the broader community.
