Abigail Snowdon, a 2026 graduate of Union Catholic, was presented with a proclamation by Hillsborough Mayor Catherine Payne during a recent Hillsborough Township Committee meeting in honor of earning the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. It recognizes Girl Scouts who demonstrate exceptional leadership by identifying a community need and developing and completing a sustainable project that creates a lasting, positive impact.

For her Gold Award project, Snowdon dedicated more than 100 hours to designing and installing a communication board at Hillsborough Elementary School to help students with speech delays, autism, and language barriers communicate more effectively using symbols and words.

In addition to her work with Girl Scout Troop 60243, Snowdon has been a dedicated community volunteer, varsity swimmer, honor roll student, and a leader in several school clubs. She will attend Penn State this fall.
