Dear prospective and current students, athletes, alumni, parents, friends and fans:
Welcome to our athletic website and thank you for visiting to learn more about the competitive athletic program at Union Catholic. Student athletes at Union Catholic strive for good sportsmanship, develop self-confidence, learn personal responsibility and respect and achieve success in a competitive environment.
The growth of our athletic program over the past 50 years has created a perfect blend with the quality academics of our school. As the UC quality academic environment has advanced and grown during the school's 50 years, so has the athletic program. Union Catholic sponsors a broad range of athletic teams, including 22 varsity sports and numerous sub-varsity sports. The extraordinary knowledge and stability of our coaching staff has allowed them to garner numerous conference, county and state recognitions and awards.
Union Catholic is a member of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Union County Conference, the Union County Interscholastic Athletic Conference, the New Jersey Interscholastic Girls Lacrosse League, and the New Jersey Catholic Track Conference. Our schedules provide our student athletes with the best possible competition among public, private, and independent schools throughout New Jersey.
The athletic program is a very visible part of our school environment and a great source of pride for the Union Catholic community. In 2009, we opened our $1 million Athletic Complex, which is home to a turf field for our soccer, softball, baseball and lacrosse teams and a synthetic track surface for cross country, winter track and spring track and field. We also continue to refurbish our gymnasium by restoring the gym floor, updating the bleachers, enhancing the weight room and purchasing new banners. The facility is magnificent, and I personally invite you to come for a tour or to see a game.
Thank you for your interest in our athletic program, and I look forward to seeing you at Union Catholic! Go Vikings!
