COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this elective students will learn to apply basic design principles to solve graphic design problems. Using industry standard software and related programs, students develop the ability and confidence to determine appropriate and successful designs. Primary focus will be on print media such as brochures, packaging, promotional materials, logo creation, and corporate identity materials.
PREREQUISITE Successful completion, with B average or better, of Beginning Art and Intermediate Art or Art 2 or approval from Curriculum Specialist



COURSE TITLE (915) Studio Art

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This elective is designed for advanced art students who are self-motivated and creative. The purpose of this course is to give students the opportunity to explore and express individual creative ideas in a wide selection of medium and techniques. Students will also develop and apply their own unique perspective to their drawings and artwork. Specific goals and assignments will be managed on an individual basis between student and instructor. Students will be required to keep a weekly sketchbook/journal.
PREREQUISITE Successful completion, with B average or better, of Beginning Art and Intermediate Art or Art 2 or approval from Curriculum Specialist

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This elective is designed for serious Art students planning to pursue a career in the field of art. The purpose of this course is to give the student the opportunity to prepare and arrange various pieces of finished artwork required by colleges/art schools for admission. The course will require that students play a large role in setting the educational goals that are necessary for their continued growth in the visual arts field. Specific goals and assignments will be managed on an individual basis between student and instructor. Students will be required to keep a weekly sketchbook/journal.

COURSE TITLE (971) Digital Film 1
LEVEL Regular

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn the basics of filmmaking in the digital format, including script writing, staging, filming, and editing. Students will also view short and feature length films for purposes of appreciation and reference.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will expand upon their first year of filmmaking focusing on projects for other departments in the school. Students will complete portfolio projects.
